[Featured App Review] Doodle Run 05/30/10

Doodle Run by eBattalion is a very addicting game available in the app store for $0.99! What a deal!

Similar to games such as Traffic Rush by Donut Games and Doodle Jump by Lima Sky, the purpose of this game is to rack up points; not to advance levels. See, this type of gameplay makes the game more addicting because you feel the need to "pwn" your old score but while you're trying to beat your old score, you have no fun. And that's what games are all about right?

So in this game, you play the "Dude" (points for creativity) and you're objective is to not get killed by psycho snakes, rocks, zombies and various other perilous objects. How do you do that? You drag the paper (hence the name DOODLE Run). Which may be confusing (paper is white, background is white). If you don't understand where I'm going with this, try the game yourself.

If you feel hopeless, there are several weapons and special objects. Such as the rocket launcher (self-explanatory) and the brain (catch a ride).

But, in a game where weapons are provided for you, it only means one thing.

Weapons are also against you. I would like to note the chainsaws.

Sorry, can't rotate.

If you are thinking that you're probably going to fail miserably, then you're probably right.
Ha, I'm just joking with you! When you fail (most fails), Dude's head comes off. When his head comes off, you have to hope it doesn't suffer any more damage or doesn't fall, then you reattach it. Time to total it up!

[Featured App Review] Lion's Den - Lone Wolf 05/23/10

Thanks to Donoma Games for the promo code to this app.

Lion's Den - Lone Wolf by Donoma Games is a rather unconventional sniper game available in the App Store for $0.99.

From the creators of Sniper Strike, comes Lion's Den - Lone Wolf - not your average sniper game.

First of all, what do you expect in a sniper game?

  1. Time Limit
  2. Tilt Controls (Accelerometer)
  3. No Gun
  4. No Zoom
Well, Lion's Den - Lone Wolf has no time limit. You have unlimited time (that's a plus and a minus). It also has swipe controls (also good and bad but mainly good, easier to control, less sensitive than accelerometer). In addition, you have to actually pull the trigger to a gun. As well, you can zoom in.

One problem about zooming in, you can zoom in up to 8x. If you do that, the graphics, well, kinda suck.

But, in normal 1x, the graphics are great, clean, overall, cool.

The gun looks cool.

The touch controls are cool.

The no time limit is cool.

But, what I'd like to point out is the sound. The soundtrack is a rock song that repeats. Annoying, but cool!

There are some aspects of the game that are a little stupid. For example, when you shoot one guard in level one and the other one notices, you can't shoot him.

So how does this unique sniper game total up? Oh, and by the way, we added more categories!

[App Review] Call Of Duty: World At War: Zombies 05/22/10

Call of Duty: World at War Zombies (COD: Zombies) with the Verrückt map pack costs $9.99 (actual game) + $4.99 (map), which is definitely worth it.

COD: Zombies is yet another zombie survival game, this time putting you in the first perspective, and with firearms.

In this game, you attempt to survive a zombie invasion. You barricade your windows, open up new areas, and buy new weapons. If you played the console versions, you would know what I’m talking about.

The gameplay is simple, but addictive. Once you pick the game up, get into a good team (if playing online) and get into the later levels, the only reason you would want to put your iPod Touch/iPhone would be either there isn’t much batteries left, or you ragequitted due to annoying teammates. You simply just shoot, barricade, unlock, shoot, barricade, etc.

The game actually has no end. You just keep playing, finding new challenges, new people to play with and new maps.

The graphics are terrific. I play with a medium quality level (never got around to change it) and there is still an amazing level of detail put into every little bit of background and character models.

Oh boy, the only part COD: Zombies needs to work on are the controls. It takes quite a long time to get used to the controls. You have 3 different choices and I’ve tried all three and I still have auto aim on high. However, once you get used to the controls, the gameplay really starts to pick up.

The game has a tutorial, which is always nice. I usually just skip it, but there is an achievement that has something to do with the tutorial, so I went back to it. The only flaw when it comes to UI is the online play. You can’t find servers with a list like most games, the game just searches for a host. Also, I hate playing a 2 player co-op game. It ruins the fun. The host should be able to start the game when he feels like it.

As for creativity, I find that if you haven’t played the console version, it is very creative. If you own the console version, I would recommend that you don’t get this app unless you want to play it on the go.

The new map pack simply adds to the fun by adding new features. More map packs are sure to come in the future, more the reason to get this game.

All in all, COD: Zombies is a terrific game and is definitely worth its high price.

[Featured App Review] Glyder 2 05/22/10

Thank you Glu Mobile for a promo code for this app!

Glyder 2 is the $0.99 sequel to Glyder, the amazing app made by the gliding Glu! As you may recall, Glyder was a about a girl called Eryn who was once on a flying trip and was caught on a dimensional rift and was sent to a different dimension. She had to gather crystals and open a portal to get back home. In Glyder 2, Eryn was so unfortunately thrown through yet another dimensional rift and once again in another foreign dimension. Poor Eryn, but her misfortunes have created yet another exciting adventure that you may enjoy.

Much like the very first edition to this series, Glyder 2 is tilt controlled. Since you tilt to control Eryn, it creates an actual flying feeling. There are thermals, the speed Eryn is flying at, and even more. Unlike the Glyder, Eryn allows you to customize her. You may obtain many different clothes or wings to suit your type of Eryn you prefer, it is up to you. Really, Glyder 2 is like a major version update for Glyder, with so many new features that Glu couldn’t just give it away for free (but they did, see Glyder 2 Free).

The goal of this game is to collect enough floating crystals to open the portal that takes Eryn home. I love the way you have to guide Eryn to another island instead of you just hitting a button any your there. It creates a longer lasting effect that you’re actually Eryn, instead of a guy playing a game. Sure it may take long to travel to the opposite side of the virtual world, but it is more lifelike than to just suddenly appear in a new setting. The game was quite challenging, with new additions of mini-games and challenges explore six new worlds, achieve over 24 achievements, and more. An exciting action-pack game with a greatly developed storyline, totally recommended for people that love to just… fly.

Unfortunately, another element of the original was added, the repetitive soundtrack. However, unlike the original, Glyder 2 has the option of playing your own music from your iTunes library while enjoying the game. A welcoming addition to a welcoming app!

The app was stunning, with the life-like visuals, to the addicting non-stop flying you must do in this game. For the first time, when playing the Glyder series, I felt good about my life. All the pleasure of flying and soaring, in the palm of your hand! All that freedom for only $0.99, an offer you can’t refuse.

[Featured App Review] Inotia 2: A Wanderer of Luone 05/19/10

Thank you Com2Us for the promo code to this app.

Inotia 2: A Wanderer of Luone is a $4.99 RPG game made by the one and only… Com2Us
RPGs have been on the iPhone for almost as long as there was an iPhone. Many great RPGs have been massively created for years. Some great classics such as Zenonia, Dungeon Hunter, and more, but leave it to Com2Us to create a completely new type of RPG that may equal in greatness with major blockbusters, or even pass them. Com2Us has made a greatly detailed 2D fully functioning RPG game that is fully equipped with all the right features needed to make a major RPG, and even made the unthinkable. An RPG with a touch-to-move screen for movement and attack, how cool is that?! Once you start off, it automatically makes it a touch-to-move screen. You have the choice of leaving it like that, or you can change it back to the classical D-Pad, or V-Pad, most RPG fans are use to. The controls are insanely smooth, with no lag or glitch anyone can find. The only thing about the touch-to-move screen is that attack is sometimes troublesome, since your fingers are bigger than the enemy so you might not touch the enemy and might touch the patch of land beside the enemy. That is extremely fussy.

What’s great is that it is a full game with full game features, but it also includes an online matchup mode for those that finished the game so many times that they could memorize the storyline by word. Of course, now many RPGs have been added with that feature, such as Zenonia 2, but back when this game was created, it was the one. The game was the first RPG to include a global online matchup. For those that have no idea how an online matchup works, it means that you chose one of your characters and you get matched up with another person around the earth to fight in a one on one battle.

The storyline is epically long, with many twists that come along the way. Different Armors and weapons for ever level. Unfortunately, the armors are mostly the same design and color for ever level. Fortunately, the armors that look different when in bag also look different when you put them on. I don’t know about you, but I like that when that happens. I also liked that there was six classes, when their competitors only had three to four classes.

Verdict! The graphics were as good as a 2D RPG game could get. Creative, well there are millions of RPG games out there, good and bad. User Interface was, once again, Fantastic. No need to even explain why. Fantastic game recommended to any RPG fan out there!

[Featured App Review] Zenonia 05/19/10

Thank you Gamevil for the promo code to this app.

Zenonia is a 2D RPG game by Gamevil available in the app store for $2.99. For anyone who loves great classic action-oriented role-playing games like the very first Legend of Zelda, then you MUST have this game. No matter how you pay for it. If you are a real RPG fan, you would do anything for the most anticipated RPG in the history of the app store. People have done the strangest things to get this app, thing that varies from stealing from their mothers to jacking off a four year old girl. With an average of forty hours of game play, 16-bit era action RPG game play, how can you go wrong?

With forty hours of story line, you must be thinking there is tons of repeats and no point in the game. Those people that think that say that have issues, and if you don’t know what issues are, and you live, then you are an idiot. The story line is extremely twisted with a choice of two sides, good and bad. The story changes with every decision you have, so you can decide your own little destiny in this gigantic little world. I personally chose the evil side, since the evil fairy, Parole, is smoking HOT. To top it off, she is so revealing. HA-AWT.

The controls are the absolute BEST of all the app I can think of, and all the apps that I can’t think of. The D-Pad isn’t like Gameloft’s D-Pads, it’s more of a RPG D-Pad with four arrows in a circle. They are almost as good as a D-Pad, but it falls short by a sliver. RPG D-Pad is great, but it sucks when your against a mob of angry bears that are five times stronger than you and your finger slides off the D-Pad when you are about to escape. They rips you limb from limb as you fail to return your finger onto the D-Pad.

The app was great, kept me up all night. From days after the other, I kept on playing this great app. It was a true RPG, a great way to start off your day. Slashing your way to a great morning. Once you deal with your money issues at the beginning of the game, the rest is just pure addictiveness.

Okay, now how was this app? Awesome. One word to describe my whole review. Awesome. The graphics were awesome, the user interface was awesome, the purpose was awesomely played out, and the app was awesome. One word, AWESOME!

[Featured App Review] My Celebtwin 05/16/10

Thanks to Ivango for the promo code to this app!
Sorry again, no YouTube video. Microsoft is gaying up my computer.

My Celebtwin by Ivango is an app designed to find your celebrity "twin" available in the app store for $3.99.

Now, it took me a few tries to get this right. I had to get the pictures off of Facebook because I don't have any pictures of me on my iPod. I tried 3 times and got an error message saying it couldn't tell where my face was (off to a great start!), but I got it right on the fourth try (my lucky number!).

The app is nice, has a smooth feeling. Everything is easy to find, when you get an error, it is explained in simple terms and pictures. It's easy to use, and everything and I found that it was almost too good.

But nope. No almost. It was too good. I had to find the flaw (not being able to find my face; thanks) but I couldn't find any bugs or glitches.

The app has no real purpose but it sure is fun, apparently, I look like Danny Masterson, Mathieu Kassovitz and Paul McCrane.

If you know any of the above people, please comment cause I don't and I look "like" them.

Sorry, Ivango, but I don't look like any of those people, I'm not even of the same race. And I'm not bald, I have hair (sorry, Paul McCrane).

See? That's proof.

The graphics were: I don't know! Just a newspaper background. The user interface was cool and awesome. I had another word, but I'm not sure I could say it. As for purpose, it had none. It was creative to a certain extent but not the first.

Graphics: 3/5
UI: 5/5
Purpose: 1/5
Creativity: 4.5/5
Our rating: 4/5 (Would've been 5 if you could find my face).
Total: 17.5/25 or 70%.
Still worth your time and money.

[Featured App Review] Space Harvest 05/16/10

Thanks to All-Seeing Interactive for the promo code to this app!

Sorry, we do not have a YouTube video for this app; Microsoft issues (MovieMaker can't save).
Space Harvest by All-Seeing Interactive is an interactive strategy game where you are an intergalactic mushroom picker (points for creativity; wink wink) available in the app store for $1.99.

So the year is 2314. An asteroid falls to Earth in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Over time, it is noticed that mushrooms are dying and that sends the world into turmoil (more points for creativity).

You are part of a space program to find and harvest mushrooms in the Heavens.

The game itself? Looked very cool. I played and played and played for a long time (though it was confusing). I am a fan of strategy games like this (oh, by the way, me and Simon are planning something big for Canada Day) though Simon isn't. He calls me a nerd. Then again, I'm the one that runs the site. He just goes "typie, typie" for about 10 minutes a week.

The retro style reminded me of RCT and RCT2 (Google it). And I liked RCT and RCT2. Got them from a cereal box. $2.99. They retail for $9.99 and $19.99 respectively. I would say I got the better end of that bargain.

But I digress, retro is still retro. The gameplay was confusing, I mean, when you're playing a game, WHO READS? (Please comment and share all). Especially if there's a lot to read like in Space Harvest or ZENONIA.

Like I said earlier, the graphics were retro-style. The interface was friendly but there was a lot of reading. The gameplay was fun, addictive. IT WAS VERY CREATIVE. End of story.

[Featured App Review] Twitterific/Twitterific Premium 05/15/10

Thanks to The Icon Factory for the promo code to this app! No song goes with this app. Why? Like I said for TextPlus, do I have to answer that?
Twitterific is a Twitter client for the iPod Touch and iPhone available for free ($4.99 for premium). Are you a Twitter user? If so, are you ever annoyed at how there is no "official" Twitter app for the iPhone? Well, then get Twitterific. The absolute BEST Twitter app. And it's available for free. Why is it the best? Is it how user friendly the app is? How colourful? Fast? All of the above? Yes. Yes it is.

The Icon Factory certainly knows how to make something better than the original. For lack of an official Twitter app, many developers such as The Icon Factory and the makers of Tweetery have decided to make Twitter apps. The difference between these apps? Everything. For example, Tweetery lacks a lot of features Twitterific does and sometimes, Twitterific just does it better. Simple as that.

The free version is ad-supported. Ads show up occasionally. Like I said for TextPlus, a small price to pay for a FREE fully featured BEAUTIFUL STUNNING Twitter app.

It's also fast, I mean really fast. Sometimes, it refreshes for new tweets so fast the sound surprises me (you can turn it off.)

Now, I'm an hour into writing this review (don't ask why; fine, since you asked, setting up camera for YouTube video but it was glitchy and I have old computer and it also uploaded some pictures I have not put on my computer yet so that took more than half an hour, I had to edit the video and put it on YouTube, saving took long cuz I have slow computer and uploading took long cuz I have slow Internet).

So, let's get to the totals.

The graphics were colourful which added interest. The app was extremely user friendly. The app was almost TOO useful. But, as for creativity, Twitterific falls short; sorry.

[Featured App Review] TextPlus/TextPlus Ad-Free 05/14/10

Thanks to GOGII for the promo code to this app! No song goes with this app. Why? Do I have to answer that?
TextPlus is a social app available on the app store for free (Ad-Free is $2.99).
Let's say you have an iPod Touch or went over your texting limit. What do you do? Pay money for credits in "free" texting apps? No. Get TextPlus. Why? What does TextPlus have to offer that beats other texting apps?
First of all, it offers unlimited texting for the awesome price of nothing...
Yes, the free version is full-featured. Just ad-supported. A small price to pay for free unlimited texting.
See, TextPlus let's you text whoever you want and receive texts from whoever you want (as long as you text them first).
The receipients don't even have to have a cell phone. As long as they have TextPlus on an iPod Touch or another iPhone. Every TextPlus user has their own unique TextPlus address. Or you can text random phone numbers (STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED). All you have to make sure you are connected to a WiFi or 3G network.
Pretty simple right?
(If you haven't gotten TextPlus yet, then I've got some news for you.)
Does it sound good?
It sure does to me. Well, the only downside about this amazing gift from Heaven is that it may be a little slow. (Or it's just me, I don't really know. All I know is that I'm still living in the dark ages when it comes to Internet. I'm using Rogers. Stupid 516kbps connection)
When I try to delete a conversation, it shows up again, when I say something and press back, it shows up as a new message and shows a push notification and it takes forever to show a message that someone else sent me. It even takes a long time to show my community information. But, like I said before, a small price to pay for unlimited free texting.
Now how does this AMAZING app total up?
The graphics? Colourful. Awesome. The app was VERY user friendly but the lag could be removed. The app was VERY useful. It was creative as how it was the first and only app to offer free unlimited texting but not as how there were other texting apps.

[Featured App Review + PROMO CODES!] Doodle Army 05/11/10

Thank you Chad Towns for this app!

Doodle Army is a $0.99 third person shooter game that was created by Chad Towns. You may be thinking, the number of shooter games out there is so vast that if I were to get a dollar for every shooter game that were ever created, I would be a millionaire. But, Doodle Army is not your average shooter game. I - we promise. (Don't hold that against us.)

If you love to shoot wave after wave of Nazis or aliens or zombies, don’t hesitate to buy this great app. The game itself has great variety, with forty different weapons and doodles (animated people), 6 battle zones, and two different shooting styles. With that much content waiting for you in this game, no wonder it is rated four out of five stars. The storyline for this game was simple though, you were trained at this boot camp and the Nazis invaded the camp. That caused you to fight for your life. I got to say, IT WAS AWE- just kidding. The storyline could have been improved, A LOT.

The controls were insanely smooth. The arrow keys that were lined up in a row were always responsive, but a D-Pad would have made it sooo much easier. As you proceed through the game, it gets harder which means that you have to move around more. Then it becomes more difficult to jump, since your thumb is too far away from the jump button and then you die a horrible death that would result to you smashing your iPod or iPhone and then you get suicidal for wasting over two hundred dollars.

I love it that there is a boss fight for every level, more joy in every minute you play. It adds to the flavor of the game.

The game was awesome, but was all of it awesome? The graphics were a mere ok. What do you expect in a 2D doodle app. Creative? Hell Yeah! I have never before seen a doodle shooting game as good as this one before. User Interface, well Chad Towns just put ads of their other games on the load screen. Great app. *Clap Clap Clap*

[Featured App Review] iStunt Reloaded Pro 05/09/10

Thank you Profusion Studios for the promo code to this app!
Happy Mother's Day from the folks (dudes) here at How's My App!
This app goes great with the song (WOW) Tap Tap Domination by Stroke Nine. (I know, I know. Don't say anything about that.)
iStunt Reloaded Pro is a 2D stunt snowboarding app from Profusion Studios available in the app store for $1.99.
If you've been a long time How's My App reader, you may know we wrote a review for iStunt back when we used to write really short reviews. Then, with my crappy luck, 3 days later, iStunt had an update - their name changed to iStunt Reloaded and the price changed to $4.99 then became free. Forever. Woohoo me.
So... How's My App is back again with iStunt Reloaded PRO! =) That's much better, a two word title improvement over our last iStunt review.
So let's start stunting! (See what I just did there?)
The loading was awesome. Really fast. In the game, you are a snowboarder, trying to make it to the end of the course (now there's checkpoints). If you pass checkpoints, you can start from there if you fail. Like I did. Miserably. Also, for those that read the old review, I pointed out how Gravity Inversion sucked. Now, you can turn that off. iStunt Reloaded Pro includes a level pack not in iStunt Reloaded and it has the Jet Board (REALLY REALLY COOL). Anyways, back to the point. You have to survive many obstacles such as hills, cliffs, inversions (snowboarding upside-down WTF?), chainsaws (WTF?) and MORE (WHATCHA TALKING ABOUT?) which makes the game difficult but fun.
Sad thing is, when I started iStunt Reloaded Pro, my game data from IStunt Reloaded was gone. Boohoo. I had to start all over. *Story of my life.*
Starting over was fun though, because I used my Jet Board and I flew everywhere and got owned. *Other story of my life.* But, I was impressed because I thought that if you passed a level using Jet Board, you had to do it again on the Classic Board. I was wrong. That was very convenient for the level "Second Chance" when if you tuck and use your Jet Board and jump, you can make it "First Chance". I completed that level in 5 seconds.
The graphics were EH... cuz it was 2D. The User Interface was AwEsOmE! Gameplay was undoubtly insanely fun and addicting. Creativity: It was not your average snowboarding game.
Graphics: 3/5
UI: 4.5/5
Gameplay: 5/5
Creativity: 5/5
Our rating: 5/5
Total: 22.5/25 or 90%
Look at that score and tell me the game sucks. Go ahead. Do it.

[Featured App Review] Automobiles Pro 05/08/10

Thank you Lionsoft Studios for the promo code to this app!
This app goes great with the song Not Afraid by Eminem - Available in the iTunes Store Now!
Automobiles Pro by Lionsoft Studios is a 3D cart driving game available for $1.99.
I first found about this app from Tap Tap Revenge 3 when it was an offer. Now I don't usually spend much time playing games on my iPod (I know, this is an iPhone app review site, but we don't have iPhones - FAIL) but I played the app supported version of this app so much... I even played it when I was in the hospital when they thought I had appendicitis so they stuck a needle in my arm (right on the other side of my elbow so I couldn't move my arm or else I'd be screwed) for 2 hours before they realized nothing was wrong (loong story). Long story short, I had a needle in my right arm and I was still playing it. Eventually, I deleted it because I got bored with it.
Then, I emailed Lionsoft Studios and they gave me a promo code for Automobiles Pro. Woot! I love this game. I mean, it isn't the best game in the world such as those from Digital Chocolate, Gameloft and GLU! (Glu for the win ☺ <=== really messed up smiley face Alt+1) But, what makes this game great is its simplicity and addictingness. I played while eating dinner. I played while taking a dump. (Simon: "Hope not!")
The game is quite difficult though, I fall over the edge on a regular basis. You can set your watch by my failure (cuz that's how cool I am). But I did manage to complete it on a completely different basis. You can't set your watch by my success though (I'm still cool, right?) Honestly though, this idea is in no way original. But I think that Lionsoft pulled it off the best. But, personally, (sorry), I do not think this app is worth $1.99.
Now, let's get funky! The graphics were somewhat good for a 3D game. The user interface was a little confusing and a little hard to use. The gameplay was VERY ADDICTING. Good =). Like I said earlier, not very original.

Graphics: 3.5/5
UI: 3.5/5
Gameplay: 5/5
Creativity: 1/5
Our rating: 5/5 (Not worth $1.99)
Total: 18/25 or 72%.
Damn, how'd it total so low? I liked it =).

[Featured App Review] Gunz 05/07/10

Gunz is a gun simulator by Peekabui that, as stated in the title, lets you have the thrill of shooting guns without having to deal with the police after. A $0.99 that simulates guns, you may think, is a rip off. You might be thinking, I’ll just ask my dad if he could apply to be a policeman, or something like that. IF you are thinking that, you are as stupid as rock! First of all, if you steal a gun from your dad, your dad would be arrested for allowing a loaded weapon to fall into the hands of a minor/unqualified person. That would be bad. Is that worth proving a point that GUNZ isn’t worth a dollar? No, because it totally is.

Personally, I hate In App Purchases. But that is just my own opinion, and also many other people’s opinion. Once you buy the game, you definitely don’t want people to groan as they realize that they still have to pay even more so they could unlock the app’s full potential. If you like to spend your money over and over again, I’m not the one to judge. In this game, it comes with three guns, a 44 Magnum, a 45 Revolver, and finally a 1911. There are two more guns that you could BUY for one dollar, a silver Desert Eagle, and a golden Desert Eagle. I believe that the app should just be two dollars, and have all the guns included in it. But once again that is my opinion.

The app itself is a fair app, with many features to play with. The revolvers were already made before, so they aren’t exactly original. The 1911 was confusing though, since many people didn’t even know how to reload. For people that don’t know and have the app, you have to go to the settings and select auto reload. What was very original was that the laser sight for the 1911 was able to be removed/added, since most gun apps have laser sights that can’t be removed and is just an object that takes up room. As I quickly skimmed through the description, it turned out that there was a smoke feature, but unfortunately I couldn’t find it. There is also a shooting range that when you tilt the aim moves. There is so many thing I want to say about the shooting range, so I’m going to start a new paragraph.

The shooting range was a great idea for a gun simulator app, but this shooting range wasn’t the best. IF you tilt right, the aim goes lift if you tilt left, your aim goes right. The aim is way too sensitive; it only needs a tiny tilt to move all the way across the screen. There is no way to calibrate it either, which isn’t really a problem since the simulator was calibrated right in the first place. Either way, I thought that the shooting range was horrible.

Okay, time to break down this app. The graphics were GREAT. To create decent gun simulator, the app MUST have very good graphics, and this app does. Creative app? Not really, you have no Idea how many gun simulator apps are out there. The user interface was, well there wasn’t really a load screen and the background was plain. It was decent. BUT it had no purpose whatsoever though it was entertaining.

Graphics: 5/5
UI: 2/5
Purpose: 2/5
Creativity: 0/5
Our rating: 3/5
Total: 12/25 or 48%.

[Featured App Review + PROMO CODES!] Watch Facebook Videos 05/04/10

Thank you Kemal Taskin for the promo code to this app!
Watch Videos without Flash!!! (now Watch Facebook Videos) by Kemal Taskin is a very useful app available for $0.99. Why? Simply because it does something that the actual thing doesn't do.
Confused? Yeah. This app lets you watch Facebook videos on your iPhone or iPod Touch without flash... something the actual Facebook app can't do itself. Doesn't that sound cool? Because I get pretty frustrated when I really want to watch a Facebook video but can't because the Facebook app is incompetant. Actually, the Facebook app for the iPhone/iPod Touch sucks. Very bad. I read the app reviews on iTunes and most of them were 1 star reviews because the people said "IT DOESN'T WORK"! Well it does, they're just stupid (no offense). There is a help video included!
Basically, what you do is log in to Facebook (real Facebook, not password stealing scam) and find the video. Instead of tapping the picture, you tap the link. Easy as that. When it loads, just press play. You can also add the video to your favourites to watch it whenever you want. Easy as that. The lite version limits you to 3 videos a day. The full version offers unlimited.
Now to the technical stuff! Graphics were similar to that of Facebook - not very good. User interface might have been a little confusing which may have caused 1 star reviews. I thought it was smart, but I'm not everyone else. It was VERY USEFUL (purpose). As for creativity, it's been done before. Or maybe it was the first one? I don't really know... I just know it was the second app (LITE) when you search Facebook in the app store. Good for you =) so I'll just assume they were the original.
Graphics: 2.5/5
UI: 3/5
Purpose: 5/5
Creativity: 4/5
Our rating: 5/5
Total: 19.5/25 or 78%.
Good app =)

[Featured App Review] Stand O'Food 05/03/10

Thank you G5E for the promo code to this app!
Stand O'Food is a puzzle game created by G5 Entertainment to make you feel good about your crappy life that's available for $2.99 (at the moment). How? Read on!
Basically in this uber fun game, you play this dude (for lack of a better word) who runs a stand. Of. Food. (Self-explanatory much?) Playing this game and it's numerous twists and turns will make you feel good that your life is better than his. No offense to the dude.
At least the dude is nice eh? If I was him, I would be punching the customers. But, the guy is like G5E... they're nice and they care about their customers (=D). He must have the patience of a (for lack of something).
The customers just keep coming and coming and coming. You are practically running on the ceiling trying to put things together. Then, there's the customer you get stuck on. You can't make anything (here's where the puzzle element comes in). Then another comes. You can't make anything. You're stuck. Then another, and another. But you can't make anything. You're stuck. Tough luck! Try another strategy. (For me, it was like 'tough luck' followed by a 'what the f@#$').
But hey, good game eh? Fun. I was playing for a long time. Trying to accomplish something in life! I'm a failure. I couldn't complete a game. I was playing for hours because it was that addicting.
Every time you play, there are new twists. I hate twists. But those twists kept me playing because the game was awesome.
     Again, let's get freaky!
Like all the other G5E games we have reviewed, the graphics were okay... User interface was user friendly =). Had me playing for a really long time. Good gameplay, complex story line. Not the first puzzle game of its kind but still pretty creative (food-pertaining)
Graphics: 3.5/5
UI: 5/5
Gameplay: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Our rating: 4/5.
Overall: 20.5/25 or 82%.
Cool app!
