USB 3.0 is the latest iteration of the global standard peripheral interfaces. It claims to deliver speeds of up to 4.8 Gbps, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. It has already been implemented on many high-end gaming systems.
A top hardware manufacturer has said that Intel is looking to adopt USB 3.0 by late 2011, meaning we could see some USB 3.0 ready Macs by 2012.
